The City of Fort Worth recognized TCU Nursing’s nurse practitioner (NP) program with a proclamation during the City Council meeting on Nov 14 at 6 p.m. in support of National Nurse Practitioner Week.
The event was live-streamed online and attended by Associate Dean for Nursing & Nurse Anesthesia Suzy Lockwood, Ph.D., Director of Graduate Nursing and Associate Professor of Professional Practice Kimberly Posey, Ph.D., as well graduate nursing students.
National Nurse Practitioner Week is held annually to celebrate these exceptional health care providers and to remind lawmakers of the importance of removing outdated barriers to practice so NPs will be allowed to practice to the full extent of their experience and education. Many states, cities and towns recognize NPs with a proclamation that supports full practice authority and their important role as health care leaders.
