TCU Nursing Alumna, Student Leading the Underserved

Amabilia Martinez ’17, a doctor of nurse practitioner candidate, was sworn in as a member of the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission. This committee is dedicated to improving how the city supports individuals with disabilities and those from low-income communities. Martinez expressed her gratitude for TCU Nursing’s emphasis on policy advocacy and community engagement, noting that she has been inspired to pursue opportunities such as this. “We are proud to see her stepping into leadership roles that align so closely with the values of advanced nursing practice and social responsibility,” said Tammie Williams, assistant professor of professional practice in nursing and coordinator of the family nurse practitioner program.
