The TCU Student Experience
Nurse Anesthesia Learning Lab
At TCU Harris College School of Nurse Anesthesia’s simulation labs, students benefit from a safe, supportive environment, high expectations and freedom to question and learn to manage complex anesthetic care of patients by integrating sound scientific knowledge with technical and clinical skills.
During their time here, students experience three learning phases:
Anesthesia Crisis Resource Management
Step into the fast-paced world of nurse anesthesia as TCU’s student nurse anesthetists face a high-stakes crisis simulation. In this realistic scenario, students apply all the critical skills they've learned throughout their training to manage an unexpected medical emergency.
From rapid decision-making to effective communication and life-saving interventions, this simulation puts their knowledge to the test in a controlled environment.
Watch as our future CRNAs demonstrate their ability to handle the pressure and ensure patient safety in challenging situations, preparing them for real-world clinical practice. This hands-on experience is a vital part of shaping confident, capable anesthesia providers at TCU.
Additional Experiences
Students in the Advanced Pain Management program also have online courses and clinical practice.
Our School of Nurse Anesthesia provides excellent learning opportunities in simulation and cadaver labs. Here, students learn from top-notch faculty and practice their skills in a realistic setting.
TCU Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences (HCNHS) can engage in innovative research because it maintains a close connection between students and the community. Students in the School of Nurse Anesthesia have many opportunities to participate in graduate research.
