National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is the only national student organization for pre-professionals studying communication sciences and disorders recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
The Harris College Academic Resource Center (HARC) provides academic advising for prospective and first- and second-year students in Harris College to help develop their academic goals in the health and helping professions.

Once major-specific coursework begins, students are assigned a department-level advisor who advises on coursework and helps prepare students for a career in communication sciences and disorders.
