The Doctor of Nursing Practice program focused on adult-gerontology acute care trains nurses to offer comprehensive health care to young adults, adults and elders in acute care settings who are chronically, acutely or critically ill.

Upon completion, graduates can pursue national certification through either the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Certification Corporation.

Clinical Experience

One year of full-time experience as a registered nurse in an inpatient, acute care setting is required. These include but are not limited to progressive care, intensive or critical care, intermediate care, emergency department or telemetry unit.
