The clinic is run in a triage-type environment with minimal equipment, while still meeting all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards and OSHA requirements for points of mass distribution. The DAISY in Training Award™
The DAISY in Training Award™ serves as a reminder to nursing students about their passion for nursing, acknowledging their exceptional care and compassion for patients and their families, celebrating the essence of being a nurse.
TCU’s Harris College Baccalaureate Nursing Program is honored to annually recognize a student nurse with this special award.
About The DAISY Foundation
The DAISY Foundation, standing for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, was established in 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away at 33 due to complications from the auto-immune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).
Inspired by the compassion and clinical skill of Patrick's nurses, his family created DAISY to honor exceptional nurses everywhere. The foundation now extends its gratitude to nursing students for their outstanding care of patients and families.
The Bebout Wellness Center
Promoting optimal patient outcomes requires prioritizing the well-being of nurses, especially considering the unprecedented levels of burnout, stress and compassion fatigue they currently experience.
The Bebout Wellness Center for the Helping Professions, supported by the Bebout Family Foundation, provides nursing students with evidence-based self-care practices and a dedicated space, the Bebout Resilience Room, on the third floor of the Bass building.
Created by and for nursing students, this quiet space encourages rejuvenation and time away from stressors, fostering a culture of health.
